Emily Hope Price's 365 Project… A song a day for the next… Year.

Oh yes. It’s true. Pearl and the Beard’s own Emily Hope Price has decided to take on the unimaginable. She’s writing and recording a song every day for the next 365 of them… and posting them to her blog HERE.
As of today, she’s gotten 18 songs under her belt, available online for your listening pleasure. Enjoy going back throughout the tracks and hearing which ones you most closely relate to. Leave her a comment, pass on some encouragement, become a part of it.
What amazes me most about this project, as a musician and as a human creature, is that she’s refusing to settle for less than what she’s capable of. Sure, she may only be on Day 18, and by the time we hit July she might just be recording herself blowing raspberries into the microphone. But in reality, she’s simply forcing herself to stretch her boundaries, through both the technical process of recording and the self-humbling process of constantly writing, and she’s earnestly striving to reach above and beyond her potential. Every song is different, and every song has its own personality. We can’t wait to hear what the year has yet to come!
Of course, we especially enjoy this little ditty, brought to you by us truly. Enjoy, and head on over to Emily’s Blog for more audible bliss.
Emily Hope Price’s 365.17, “I Can’t See Anything.” Featuring Pearl and the Beard, Jonathan “Omnichord Playa” Clark, and Jim “Visually Impaired” Altieri.

Should Old Acquaintance be forgot,
and never thought upon;
The flames of Love extinguished,
and fully past and gone:
Is thy sweet Heart now grown so cold,
that loving Breast of thine;
That thou canst never once reflect
on Old long syne.
On Old long syne my Jo,
in Old long syne,
That thou canst never once reflect,
on Old long syne.
My Heart is ravisht with delight,
when thee I think upon;
All Grief and Sorrow takes the flight,
and speedily is gone;
The bright resemblance of thy Face,
so fills this, Heart of mine;
That Force nor Fate can me displease,
for Old long syne.
Since thoughts of thee doth banish grief,
when from thee I am gone;
will not thy presence yield relief,
to this sad Heart of mine:
Why doth thy presence me defeat,
with excellence divine?
Especially when I reflect
on Old long syne

Check out the new video for Vessel, courtesy of Harvey and Carolyn of Monkeywhale.com!
Whilst on tour down in Greesnboro, NC, we got a chance to spend a day filming with Harvey for his video series “In Harvey’s Kitchen.” Not only did we get to spend some quality time bonding with some really lovely people, but we also had a blast filming. Harvey shot us in his kitchen and used the live audio from one of the takes as the underlying track for the final edited film, and the sound quality is outstanding! We also got to film outside in front of his barn where he projected footage from the film “Nosferatu” behind us to create a nautically charged effect that really brought out the creepy essence of the song. The video looks amazing and sounds impeccable… we couldn’t have imagined a better product.

We’re back from tour! We turned into a 90’s hip hop group on the road… think it must of been all the long hours in the Accent high on antibiotics and decongestants that inspired the new musical shift.

Oh my are we excited!! Today our debut album “God Bless Your Weary Soul, Amanda Richardson” comes out on Family Records/The Orchard, we start a 15 Day East Coast Tour starting at NYC’s Joe’s Pub, we play live on WNYC’s prestigious Soundcheck, and we have an amazing new video for our crazy Will Smith Cover Medley and the lovely folks over at AOL Spinner are featuring our album in their New Releases feature.
Family Records teamed up with the amazing Brooklyn-based collective Goddamn Cobras to turn our Will Smith Medley into an amazing video. It mashes 8 Will Smiths songs together. A warm day in Williamsburg, 6 different locations, 5 hours of shooting, and lots of happy passers-by. The Cobras are not only wonderful in that video making way, they’re also wonderful folks. We owe all this beauty to them!
